About GameHunch

GameHunch is a free Steam game recommender. Tell it a few games you love, and what you loved about them, and it finds what to play next among 14,000+ Steam games, with a reason for every pick and live prices.

Who makes it

Hi, I'm Dominic Sütt, a solo developer from Estonia. I design, build and run GameHunch myself: the recommender, the website, the game data and the servers. There's no company, investor or publisher behind it.

Why I built it

I was sick and tired of searching Steam for hours and not finding anything. Store pages, "more like this" rows and top-10 lists kept showing me the same big hits, or games that only matched on the surface. I'm a big horror fan, from Resident Evil to Outlast, and I wanted something that understood why I liked a game: the atmosphere, the story, the tension, not just the genre label.

So GameHunch lets you say what you actually loved. If you liked The Witcher 3 for its story but not its combat, you can tell it that, and the picks follow the story.

How the recommendations work

Where the data comes from

GameHunch covers every Steam game with at least 100 reviews that most players recommend, plus 551 of the most-wishlisted upcoming games. Game details, tags, reviews, Steam Deck ratings and prices come from the Steam store, and the list of games from SteamSpy. The catalog is refreshed regularly so new releases show up. Prices and sales are live from Steam, for the store region you choose (14 regions, from the US and Europe to Brazil and Japan).

Independent and honest

How GameHunch is funded

GameHunch is free to use. To cover hosting, it may show links to other official game stores next to the Steam button. Some of these may be affiliate links: if you buy through one, the store may pay GameHunch a small commission. It never changes the price you pay, and it never changes which games are recommended. Only official, authorised stores are linked, never key resellers.
